The Rescue Diver course is a crucial step in your diving education and is highly recommended to all divers. It's a transitional stage in your diving education where you move beyond just diving for fun by expanding your knowledge of some of the more technical aspects of diving as well as learning rescue and emergency skills. Throughout this course you will come to appreciate and understand the importance of this training relevant to diver safety and incident minimization and management.

Pre-requisite for this course is a PADI Advanced Open Water certification or the equivalent rating with another training agency. You will also require a current First Aid Certificate. A First Aid course can be arranged for you, if you required we offer the Emergency First Response course the day prior to your Rescue Course commencing for an additional charge of $195.

Exclusions


  • Emergency First Response course- you must have your first aid certificate before you can be signed off for this course. If required the EFR component may be run the evening prior to the PADI Rescue Diver Course. Where possible, students are given their EFR Primary and Secondary Care manuals prior to commencement of the EFR Course and they are encouraged to complete the knowledge reviews. During the evening the EFR DVD will be reviewed and focus will be on practical application of required skills.
  • As a minimum, you must be Advanced certified.
 

Itinerary


Please note that the following program is flexible and may vary due to tides, availability of boats and weather conditions

Duration of course: 2 day program

Where possible, students are given their PADI Rescue Diver Manuals prior to commencement of course. Students are encouraged to review these and complete relevant knowledge reviews at the end of each chapter.

On day one, students will complete an orientation and all required paperwork. Knowledge development, including discussions of the DVD and Knowledge reviews form an important part of the initial program. A pool session to practice essential rescue skills usually is conducted after lunch.

The second day of course generally focuses on required Open water scenarios. It is intensive but fun!

EFR Component:If required the EFR component may be run the evening prior to the PADI Rescue Diver Course. Where possible, students are given their EFR Primary and Secondary Care manuals prior to commencement of the EFR Course and they are encouraged to complete the knowledge reviews. During the evening the EFR DVD will be reviewed and focus will be on practical application of required skills.

Cancellation Policy: 
1. All monies are fully refundable if you fail your Dive Medical.  
2. No refund is payable for any other cancellation. 
3. Course fees are transferable when Pro Dive Nelson Bay is notifed 48 hours or more prior to course commencement.
4. All refunds will be less the banks merchant fee's which will be advised at time of refund.

Non English PADI manuals are available at an additional cost. Please advise the store at time of booking as they will need to be ordered in. They do not come in all languages.
