Overview
Located 200km North of Sydney (3hrs), Nelson Bay has the diving combination of breathtaking shore dives, which rivals most tropical locations for colour and diversity in such a small area.
Nelson Bay has one of the best shore dives you will dive anywhere in Australia. This site is best dived on the high tide and PRO DIVE have selected weekends away that enable us to include
this iconic dive site.
These weekends start when you board the PRO DIVE Bus. The PRO DIVE Bus departs from Manly at 5.00pm and we pick up divers in the City at our normal pick up point on Pitt Street adjacent to the Hilton Hotel. If you are Coogee based, a bus will leave at 5.00pm and head into the City for the 6.00pm City Pick Up.
If you have selected a package to include gear hire, the equipment will already be on the bus for you.
Accommodation is at the Divers Lodge and bedding is supplied. Please bring your own towels.
The diving package includes 2 shore dives and 2 boat dives.
Broughton Islands is the best of the lot which boast the Looking Glass which is home to a myriad of marine life including Morey Eels, Blue Grouper, Leatherjackets, Bull and Sting Rays and Sharks (Grey Nurse, Wobbegong, Port Jackson).
Another feature of Broughton Island is the Grey Nurse Shark Dives where up to 20 have been sighted on the one dive.

Itinerary
Please reconfirm your booking and pick up point 48hrs prior to departure.
It is important to note:
If you are using our gear, please can you come into the dive centre to be sized for hire gear or call and let us know what sizes you are. All the gear is packed and on the bus when we pick you up.
Friday Afternoon - we pick up from PRO DIVE Coogee (5.00pm), PRO DIVE Manly (5.00pm) and in the City at 6.00pm (pick up in the city is adjacent to the Hilton Hotel entrance on Pitt Street).
The distance to Nelson Bay, north of Sydney, is approximately 250km. It is normally a 3 Hour drive. We will stop for Dinner on the way.
Check in at the Divers Lodge (self catering accommodation) for 2 nights accommodation. All bedding is supplied please bring your own towels
Saturday Morning - After breakfast we will start our dive programme. Today we will do 2 shore dives. Because we will dive on the high tide, the dive times are tide dependent.
Dinner this evening is either a BBQ or dine out - (Lunches and dinner - own expense, breakfast is included)
Sunday Morning - Breakfast and then down to the D'albora Marina by 7.15am for an 8.00am departure. This morning we will do 2 boat dives.
Return to the Lodge, have some lunch. We will complete the paperwork for those who have done the Advanced and/or nitrox courses.
Back to Sydney on the PRO DIVE Bus, expect to be back after 6.00pm.

Terms and Conditions
The minimum Certification level required to join most PRO DIVE Sydney weekend trips is a PADI Openwater Diver (or alternative agency equivalent). There are however some trips that require a higher level of certification (and/or diver experience) due to the diving environment you will be entering (eg deeper diving beyond 18m, cavern diving or wreck diving) and you are advised to check these required levels prior to booking your place. If you are including a specialty course in conjunction with this trip, please also check the minimum certification level required to commence the course, and whether you are required to supply any specialised equipment of your own for the program.
